Never Too Late (Mountain Promise #2) by Malory Ford
4 STARS, Contemporary Christian Romance, My format: audiobook
Goodreads Synopsis | YouTube Audio
Felicity returns to Reindeer Pass with her 4-year-old daughter after her divorce. Robert doesn’t know how to feel about his first and only love returning to town.
Personal Review:
Robert and Felicity's story was hard but still sweet and super special. There were a lot of tough topics covered in this book and they were handled with compassion and grace.
I was pleased to see the purity culture message addressed in the past of Felicity and how that contributed to her shame of making the mistake she did. It was really heartbreaking how she felt like her only choice was to run away because she was perceived as the perfect Christian girl. I think many women my age who grew up in conservative evangelical churches can relate to Felicity's story in one way or another, and I appreciate how forgiveness and individual worthiness were at the forefront of the healing message.
Robert is a great protective hero in this book. That's not my favorite kind of hero, but it worked very well to match Felicity's personality.
And I've said it before about Reindeer Pass, but it needs to be said again, I want to live there. I love the friendships among the women and that all of the men act like modern gentlemen. Hannah and Jayce's story is still my favorite, and I can't wait for the next one!
