Subtitle: What We Believe about God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense
Personal Review:
This is a sweet reminder that God doesn't desire for us to suffer. I think for people who were taught at any point that suffering was a sign that God had great things for you or that seeking out suffering was a way to find God, that this book could be extremely helpful. I was not raised with those beliefs, so some of the myths that LaValley I had never even heard of before.
What I did love this book for, however, was its memoir-style writing. Seeing her personal journey spoke to me way more than any of the theological tidbits did (and I love me some theology). So this book is especially great if suffering is hard for you to understand, but it's also great if you want to read a sweet memoir of one person's journey of finding the truth of who Jesus is.
